Cary Darrah Named 2019 Woman of the Year by Cedar Falls Business & Professional Women's Club

We are very excited to share the exciting news that our very own President and CEO, Cary Darrah, has been name the 2019 Woman of the Year by the Cedar Falls Business aCary Darrah named 2019 Woman of the Year by Cedar Falls Business & Professional Women's Clubnd Professional Women's Club! The Cedar Falls Business and Professional Women’s Club has announced their choice for their 2019 Woman of the Year recognition, and they have selected Cary Darrah.

Cary Darrah is President & CEO of Grow Cedar Valley.  Prior to assuming the role of President & CEO in 2018, she was Vice President of Community Development for Grow Cedar Valley as well as President of the TechWorks Campus – an industrial redevelopment project and subsidiary of Grow Cedar Valley.

Darrah has served on the Waterloo Airport Commission, Cedar Falls Tourism and Visitors BureauExperience Waterloo, Cedar Falls Planning and Zoning Commission, Main Street Waterloo, Cedar Valley Coalition, Cedar Valley Arts Commission, Cedar Falls Public Art Committee, Leader Valley Board, Cedar Valley United Way, and is a member of many professional organizations aligned with economic and community development.

The organization’s annual Salute to Women event is happening October 22 at the Diamond Event Center in Cedar Falls.  KWWL anchor Abby Turpin will emcee the event.  Proceeds raised go toward scholarships for non-traditional students.  Darrah will be presented the award at that time, and keynote speaker Aaron Thomas will present, “Opportunities and Platforms, Overcoming Adversity.”
