Why the Opportunity Summit Matters

If you work in HR or leadership today, you know the landscape is always shifting. Expectations are higher, teams want to feel connected, and culture is front and center in every workplace conversation. That can feel like a lot to carry, but it’s also an exciting chance to rethink how we build workplaces where people actually want to be. That’s why our Opportunity Summit Advisory Committee agreed this year’s theme needed to zoom out and focus on the bigger picture: Culture and Engagement. When people feel connected, supported, and valued, everything else in business runs smoother.
At Grow Cedar Valley, we’re proud to create a space where these conversations can happen. The Summit provides our region’s leaders the chance to learn from national voices and local peers, to leave with strategies they can use right away, and to walk out with renewed energy for the work ahead.
This year’s keynotes bring something special. Kyle Ali has spent his career helping large organizations build inclusive environments, and he teaches future leaders at Villanova University. Nicole Turner has built her own consulting practice that helps organizations strengthen culture and employee engagement. Together, they’ll bring a well-rounded mix of corporate know-how and hands-on coaching strategies that you can put into practice.
In the breakout sessions, local HR leaders like Kyle Roed of CPM and Amy Eastman of Viking Pump will share their experiences, while business leaders Jeremy Stolz of VGM, Shawna Matz of Veridian, and Erica Parks of CBE Companies will take part in a panel on navigating culture in today’s workplace.
The Opportunity Summit is a chance for our region to pause, reflect, and reset together. It’s a place where HR professionals, executives, and business leaders can talk honestly about challenges while leaving with strategies that strengthen their teams and organizations.
At Grow Cedar Valley, we believe it’s worth every bit of the effort it takes to bring the Opportunity Summit to life. Because when our workplaces are healthier, our entire region benefits.
