We had a great start to the new CVLI year! Our first session brought incredible energy and connection from the moment everyone walked in.

We kicked things off with Power Networking, giving the new CVLI class a chance to meet new people and start building relationships. Heather Marquez from ActionCoach then led the group through their DISC assessments, helping everyone better understand their own communication and leadership style.

From there, we moved into service project team time, where participants met the teammates they would be working with throughout the year and explored how their different DISC styles could work together most effectively. Each team will develop and execute a service project for a local nonprofit, providing a hands-on opportunity to learn about community needs while making a meaningful impact across the Cedar Valley.

In the afternoon, a panel of CVLI alumni joined us to share their experiences and offer honest, practical advice on how to maximize the benefits of the program. We wrapped up the day with some fun and casual networking at Zsavooz, where good conversations continued after the session ended.

It was an awesome first day full of connection, learning, and excitement for what’s ahead this year!
